This is yet another story on IPL T20. Ever since the concept was announced in 2007 by Mr Modi, the IPL league has been in news for some reasons or the other. When finally IPL got recognition from the BCCI, it was projected across the world. With more and more international cricketers signing up the cricket contract with the IPL, the bookies too got a new concept to play the parallel game of betting.

As the schedules were booked and teams created, the time was favorable for the bookies across the world, as it is now again, with the season almost at the door. But this time the bets are not being cast more on who will take away the cup.

Rather, a quick look at major UK bookies’ sites shows that people are more interested in the KKR team and SRK.

The reason being the Pakistan players being stopped from playing in the KKR team sponsored by SRK and Co. This has caused a major setback to the team as most of the big names were from Pak itself. Initially it was thought that the Pak government will change its mind and let them play as did England.

But as of now, there is no positive news except for some players, who are not in contract with the PCB protesting against Pak sitting out of the IPL T20 2008. Several rounds of bets are on if Pak will play or not. With the IPL as well as other influential people convincing the PCB, the chances are 50:50.

Most sponsors have backed up from KKR, if we are to believe the interviews of SRK. But considering the glamour and power he possesses, there is no strong base to the story. But what if it is true? The kind of player SRK is, he can arrange sponsors even at the last moment. Yet another option to bet your money on!

Finally, the sudden announcement of Ponting that he is opting out of the IPL T20, the KKR is facing even more trouble. The IPL drama is still to reach the climax, with the EC asking Modi to postpone the series, players not willing to come over to India for security reasons, and many more. All this has led to a great scope for earning money even before the series started. People are placing their money on the different possibilities. This is just the beginning of this years’ share for bookies. The main game begins as the tournament goes live (possibly) in April 2008.
