You can’t run away from recession. It is everywhere. What you can do is make sure you are ready for it. You can save on most of the things. And small savings can help you a lot.
Plan a monthly budget first. Write down your usual budget, the normal one. In it, note down every detail of your expenditure. Each expense should be included in the note you prepare.
The next step is to determine how much you actually need. You will need to write down your basic items for survival such as food, water, fuel, and gas. Compare both the lists to see what all can be avoided during the months of recession. You may reduce outings. You may abstain from gambling.

Using public transport instead of cars can help cut costs. You can also use the concept of car pools. You can further cut down unwanted expenses if you buy generic items instead of branded items. You need not get depressed. Remember that recession is just a phase and everyone is suffering, some less and some more. You are lucky if your job is still there or your business is running. Recession caused thousands to lose their jobs while many businesses came to a halt.
Buying grocery and regular items in bulk helps save money. It provides you bigger discounts, and it is better in the long run. Avoid too many snack items. Rather, go for generic items. Use freezing and other storing techniques to save them for longer times (for food items bought in bulk). Supermarkets offer more discounts than smaller stores. You can have a look at the rates and then purchase the necessary items.
Make sure you use only cash for buying stuff. Do NOT use credit card during recession at any cost. If you are able to explain the situation properly to your children, they too will spend less. In addition, you and your spouse can take up part-time jobs that can do wonders during recession, especially in families not having enough money.
We all have been facing problems. If not, we might face. It is better to be ready for it. So even if you’re not affected by it yet, start saving. This global crisis might take you down if you are not ready. On the contrary if you are ready, you have your savings even if you loose your job/business. You can take up alternate sources of income wherein you feel comfortable.
